Asia’s biggest computer exhibition – Computex Taipei, will be held May 31–June 4, at the Taipei World Trade Center. Both Sunon’s LED streetlamp cooling fan and its LED MR16 halogen lamp cooling fan received a 19th Annual Taiwan Excellence Award for their high efficiency, high reliability, low current, and green design. Both the LED Streetlamp and LED MR16 are respected throughout the industry for their environmentally friendly, energy-saving design.

Sunon broke through the LED streetlamp high-heat bottleneck by launching an LED streetlamp cooling fan, whose high-efficiency active cooling can solve streetlamp’s high temperature and luminous efficiency problems. Ranking second in the whole world and the largest in Asia, Computex Taipei 2010, the ICT industrial fair held each June and attended by most Taiwanese technical manufacturers, successfully finished on June 5th, 2010. According to the statistics from Computex Taipei 2010, there were 1,715 exhibitors and 4,861 booths this year which set a new record and was 8% above that of the last fair. With over twenty thousand professionals from abroad arriving at the fair on the first day, most of them coming from U.S., Japan, and Korea, along with a growing number of buyers from China, the amount of business opportunities for the ICT industry totaled over 10 billion U.S. dollars. Following the trend of e-generation’s portable electronic products in “lightness”, “thinness”, and “miniaturization”, Sunon Mighty Mini Fan and Blower series (at 8mm, the smallest size of the world; and at 3mm, the thinnest size of the world), have been, since they entered the market in 2007, the products most frequently examined at fairs. The 17th Taiwan Excellence Awards announced award winners a few days ago. Sunon was awarded for its LED Indoor Lighting Bulb Cooling Module and Car Seat Ventilation Fan. This not only suggests Sunon has achieved brilliant results in LED cooling and car seats, but it also confirms that the firm has reached an international level in R&D, innovation and design capability.

Hosted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the event has been held 17 times. This year saw a total of 561 products competing for the awards. The reviewers assessed them according to their R&D, design, quality and marketing features, putting particular stress on a product’s performance in private brand and Technological Innovation.
Sunon has its eye on LED as a new-generation light source in place of traditional ones. As people tend to be more energy saving conscious, LEDs are expected to be widely adopted in indoor and outdoor lighting. Despite this, heat problems have been getting in the way of LED’s popularity. For this reason, Sunon has been developing LED indoor light bulb cooling modules. Innovative LED Cooling Design and the World’s Smallest Mighty Mini Fan & Blower Became the Hotspot in the Exhibition

From November 11th to 13th, 2009, the 74th China Electronics Fair (CEF) and 2009 Asia Electronics in Shanghai (AEES) were held at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) for three days. The exhibition attracted around 1,500 exhibitors to display their products, including high-end parts and components, instrument panels, automated equipment and tools, photoelectrics, and power supplies. There were also on hand advanced electronic technology such as semiconductor testing technology, virtual instrument technology, new energy and energy-saving technology, 3-D stereoscopic video, virtual reality technology, and wireless broadband technology that can be applied in fields like AutoTronics, consumer electronics, communications, industry, and the military industry. There were 60,121 professional participants and the fervent atmosphere sent the message of economic recovery. Many emerging industries had come under the spotlight in the exhibition. (more…)

National Invention and Creation Award Ceremony

After a series of evaluations, Sunon has earned two rare awards at the 2009 National Invention and Creation Award ceremony. One award is the contribution award which commends Sunon’s effort on the number of copyrights, product patents, and research incentives for its employees. The second award is the invention award for developing the world’s thinnest fan that is used to cool down electronic devices. (more…)
